Josh Got His Board Score!
We are happy. His score came and it is amazing. For the sake of privacy I will not post it here but it exceeded his goal and he is so happy. That is what matters, not really the score itself. He will definitely be able to pursue the field of his dreams with this score and I am so proud of him! My husband is amazing!
Emmett's Funny Phrases
With improving speech also comes some funny phrases.
"Cheesaroni" is one that I may have mentioned in the past. He loves Macaroni and Cheese. Somehow he managed to start calling it cheesaroni. It works for us.
"Snake Cnenter" is the way he says Stake Center. He must like the "n" sound. He can't do all his sounds correctly so sometimes words come out a little mangled. Hence "snake cnenter".
"Pay George on Puter" means "play Curious George on the computer". He loves the PBS Kids website, especially the games on Curious George's webpage. I figure it is a better alternative to tv. Slightly better. He is getting pretty proficient with the mouse. He can move it and click on what they tell him to and most of the time I can go in the other room and get something done for five minutes.
"What's going on, guys?" One of his favorite phrases. Or he'll say, "What you doing, guys?"
"That's my favorite."
"Right NOW!!" The phrase he adds to almost everything.
"What's that?" This one gets annoying but I'm glad he's inquisitive.
"The sun is bugging me" We heard this a lot on our trip.
I think he's a cute kid. What mother doesn't just gush over her own kids!

More Fun Pictures

We got the chance to visit the Idaho Falls zoo and go see a circus while on vacation. And we did it all in one day! We also managed to squeeze in a visit to Heidi and her chickens that day as well. I didn't get any pictures of Emmett feeding the chickens but supposedly he loved it. I'm excited to spend more time over there when we go visit in August.

Here is the bald bactrian camel. They are the two-hump variety and are rarer than the one hump kind. This one had a baby but refuses to care for it. The baby is living with the llamas.
And here is Emmett riding a gigantic chicken.
Here is Brinley, just hatched from a gigantic egg at the zoo.
The circus was really fun. I don't think I have ever been to a circus before. Maybe I have but I don't remember it. Anyway, I really enjoyed this tiny circus performance even though we only stayed for the first half. There was a magic act with three ladies of mature age that looked like triplets. They turned miniature poodles into the large size poodles. It was amazing!
The trapeze artists were pretty good. I couldn't do what they do, that's for sure. At the very end of their routine all three guys were out swinging and they switched places in mid-air. It was impressive.
These two performers walked on these gigantic balls up a ramp. It looked hard too.
Here is a pink poodle, yes, the dog is pink, getting ready to jump off this tall ladder contraption. I think it jumped into a trainer's arms. Can't remember. The dog did not land in a vat of whipped cream, which would have been cool, or land on a sponge like on the movie Fun and Fancy Free (remember the little circus bear, Bongo?). That I would have remembered. The whole dog show was pretty funny. They had blue and pink poodles along with some black ones that obviously wouldn't turn any other color. They did a congo line and jumped through hoops and rode scooters.
Here is another video of Emmett at the swimming pool in Sandy. This time he is learning to jump off the side.
Even though we got home on Friday night (the 19th) we still wanted to go to Omaha Railroad Day on Saturday. It started at 9 AM and we were glad we got going early because it was HOT! The contrast between rainy Idaho and hot and muggy Omaha was drastic. We were dying! But we had a great time despite the heat and got some cute pictures of Emmett.
Emmett made this conductor's hat and loved it so much he is still wearing it around the house three days later.

Emmett on a real live train, well, a train in a museum that used to be a real live train. We were in a lounge car.

Emmett with Melynn in a choke hold, otherwise known as a big brother hug. Notice she is not as fussy as she used to be. I think she is getting used to him.
We went to the Children's Museum today since it was 98 degrees outside and with humidity it felt like 110. We wanted to do something as a family but we did not want to be outside. It was a really fun time. We packed a lunch and just played and played.
Isn't that just the cutest picture of a half-smile? I love it!
She would NOT smile for me after I painted her face. Can't say I blame her.
Emmett painted some of his face all by himself. He did the green mustache and the purple spot on the forehead. I did the rest. Do you like his shiner? He gave himself a black eye from opening a marker and hitting himself with the lid while we were driving home.

Blogging the Night Away
Since I have been back home for more than three days I really have no excuse to delay my updates, except the fact that my kids keep me hopping during the day and when they are asleep I usually crash. But I decided that tonight is the night for me to blog away since Josh is at girls camp. He gets to spend the night up there and then will go back tomorrow night for the dinner and testimony meeting. Fun, fun. I am sad I didn't get to go this year. I really had a fun time last year with the girls.
We just got back (last Friday) from our two week trip to Idaho. It was so much fun even though Emmett and I both got sick. His was a 24 hour flu bug and mine was another case of mastitis. Yuck. That's the second time since I had Melynn. No fun. I was on antibiotics pretty much the whole trip. Oh well, who said motherhood was glamorous?
These first pictures are out of order. We actually did a photo shoot with Melynn in her blessing dress the week after her blessing since I was finally feeling better.
We blessed Melynn on June 7th. It feels like ages ago. She is so beautiful and is starting to smile and interact more and more. I just adore her. Today Emmett told me Melynn is adorable. I must use that term a lot if he is starting to use it too. He is talking so well now! This morning I asked him if he had fun at the College World Series game and he said, "Yes. It was really hot!" I love how he is able to communicate his feelings and thoughts in complete sentences. I'm so proud of him. Here are pictures from the actual blessing day.
I actually like this picture of me. It's amazing! Can you tell I have a fever? I really had to put on my brave face for Sacrament meeting and the blessing, then I went home and felt like I was going to die.

Here's what we did during the trip. I have a lot of pictures and quite a few videos so this may be long. We started out on Wednesday, June 3rd and drove to Laramie, Wyoming. We had a really nice hotel room and they had a pool so we all went swimming, even Melynn. It was her first time. She didn't cry so I think she loved it.
The next day we drove to Salt Lake City and went to temple square. We saw an elder from Josh's mission (the name has slipped my mind) that works on temple square as a security guard. He and his wife are expecting their 2nd baby and they will be less than a year apart. He said it was an oops. Then we drove to Sandy, Utah, to our hotel and Josh and Cassie took the kids swimming.
Emmett wanted to hold Melynn after swimming but she did NOT want to be held. Can you tell?
Emmett is pretty daring if you act like he is doing something cool. He loved getting thrown into the air and wore Josh out!
He even tried jumping off the side, although he wouldn't do it without holding onto Josh's hands. Pretty good for a kid who has never had a swimming lesson or been around pools.
We spent Friday morning, June 5th, watching Cassie play softball. It was a lot of fun. Then we met up with our friends, Chelsea and Craig, and Josh took Emmett and Brinley swimming before we left to drive up to Idaho Falls. Once we got up to I.F., we took it pretty easy.
Josh went out boating twice. These pictures are from the first trip. He loved driving the boat.
I think he looks pretty cool in this picture.
They went on the tube behind the boat and the kids LOVED it. Supposedly Karlee drove so slow she didn't even have the throttle in the first position. They basically idled their way along to give the little kids their thrill ride.
